Hi Damien,

Most of the country think of flying in terms of holidays, but London isn't what you'd call a tourist destination. The vast majority of the users of the Heathrow flights are "suits" (myself included). You can be sure that any organisation can very quickly calculate how much all these 1/2 days are going to cost them, and it will come up the next time relocation is discussed.

The argument that interfering in the decisions of a private company would damage it is bullshit too. The government said that the 25% shareholding was for exactly this purpose when they floated the company. The other shareholders bought into the company with this knowledge, so they have no grounds for complaint.

How's it goin!

I appreciate the comment, I hadn't actually considered a situation of your manner and I totally agree that it would make it very inconvenient for you and any other in that situation. I think that work needs to be done to keep the area rejuvinated so that airlines will in fact keep running links to the area.

Your opinion has finished off my blog in a manner I couldn't do, as since I'm from Dublin I don't know the personal-level effects of this decision, thanks again!
