Great post, thank you. This is still working for Meego 1.2 Netbook.

Few comments to add though.

You can take the latest version of each codeset from the 0.10 branch.

Dependencies:

You may need ‘yasm’ in addition to the previously mentioned ‘libxml2-devel’ and ‘gcc-c++’

You will not need the whole of ‘*glib*’ as this will be hundreds of megabytes of installation. If you are short on diskspace (I was doing this on an old eeepc with 4gb of root space total) experiment with the minimum that configure suggests you need.

Note it will take a long time to compile everything but it’s worth it.

How to add/install a(Single) gstreamer plugin to meego which is not exist by default in it. Like our own plugin or GST ugly plugin etc..

Paul… it means that the plugin-base is not corectly installed…

it happend to me because when i used the command ./configure…. make install (i wrote instal)

dunno …check your instalation of gst–plugins-base

Doesn’t work for me (MeeGo 1.0). I get the message, when trying to compile the “good” package:

configure: No package ‘gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10′ found
configure: error: no gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10 >= 0.10.29 (GStreamer Base Plug-ins Library) found

It makes no sense to me – the base package is version 0.10.29 and it rejects it because it is more recent than 0.10.

I confirm it works in MeeGo 1.0 (just take the last version of each module/plugin). You need in addition to make and the dependecies listed before to install “gcc-c++” and “libxml2-devel”

Don’t forget also to install these dependencies (in MeeGo 1.0):

gcc-c++ and libxml2-devel

I’m doing it right now in MeeGo, I hope it’ll work. The compilation does it right so I assume it’ll work.
