About Me

I’m a 30 something Irish guy that works in the IT business. Inside the trade I’m interested in Linux, Internet technologies and mobile hardware and services. Outside, I enjoy a good book, a nice beer and decent game of rugby……

P.S. This is a personal blog, and while I do have a professional involvement in a lot of the technical topics I mention in some of my posts, they do not reflect company policy or ethos.

I’m back!

After an all night drive to get there (note to self: never use Holyhead when visiting Cardiff. The main road snakes through the mountains), and another one to get back (Irish Ferries allowed me to change to the Pembroke ferry on the way back), I’m back home in one piece. The brother set me up with a great seat at the match. I was near the half way line on the top deck of the stand. I, along with 50,000 of the most rabbid rugby fans it the world, witnessed our team finally break the Heineken Cup Jinx.

After the match Lievremont (Biarritz’s captain) said that we were the reason that Bobo was out of position when Stringer scored his try down the blind side of the scrum. The noise from the crowd was so intense that he couldn’t hear the scrum-half telling him to cover the gap! :-)

I’ll post again (including some more pictures from the game) once I get a good nights kip.
